Come and explore the forest as a family. Learn new skills, take part in a variety of activities and enjoy wide games in the woods.
Forest School is not just for children. In fact, the grown-ups often benefit more as they support their children whilst learning from each other and enjoying the great outdoors!
Build shelters using natural materials, or string a tarp between some trees. Grow in confidence as you create you’re very own woodland hideaway.
Look for tracks, identify trees, find out about edible plants. Spend time bird watching, or even observing deer, owls and other woodland creatures.
Learn to use a variety of hand tools safely and effectively. Use tools to help build your shelter, or use a knife to whittle a woodland creation.
Discover what it takes to successfully light a fire in the woods. Learn responsible fire lighting techniques and how to put a fire out and leave no trace.
From boiing a kettle to cooking a full meal, we can guide you through various food & drink related activities. You’ll be amazed at what you achieve!
Explore the woods by playing wide games, with games tailored to the environment and group size. This is hide and seek on a whole new level!
We’re in the process of establishing Forest School ‘Taster Sessions’ in Whitby. This will be a regular event for those looking to find out a little more about Forest School activities in the area.
Our Forest Families sessions run throughout the year. We’ll be publishing our 2019 programme soon and you’ll be able to book your place online - sign up for the mailing list to stay informed.
Want to organise a private Forest School event or party? No problem! We can tailor a session, or series of sessions, to your specific requirements and offer a variety of locations.
